Frequently Asked Questions
What is counselling?
Counselling provides a confidential, non-judgemental space to talk about what you're experiencing and explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours with the support of a qualified counsellor. You don't need to have a diagnosis or be in crisis to seek counselling. Sometimes, simply having the space to talk openly can help you make sense of things and feel less overwhelmed.
How do I know if counselling is right for me?
You don't need to be certain that you "need therapy" before reaching out. Counselling can be helpful if you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in confidence, struggling with relationships, experiencing grief or finding it difficult to cope with something happening in your life. If you're unsure whether counselling would be appropriate for you, you can book a free 15-minute consultation with me. This gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what you're looking for and whether I may be the right counsellor for you, with no obligation to continue.
What issues can you help with?
I support adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. This can include anxiety, low self-esteem, grief and bereavement, relationship difficulties, stress, feeling overwhelmed and difficult or challenging life experiences. If you're unsure whether what you're experiencing is something I can support you with, please get in touch and we can discuss this during your consultation.
Do you offer online counselling in Warrington?
Yes. I provide online counselling to adults in Warrington and the surrounding areas, as well as clients elsewhere in the UK where appropriate. Although I am based in Warrington, sessions are delivered remotely by secure video call, meaning you can access counselling from a private and comfortable space that works for you.
How does online counselling work?
Online counselling takes place through a video call, allowing us to speak face-to-face remotely. You will need a private space where you feel comfortable talking openly, as well as a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. Before your first session, you'll receive the information you need to access your appointment.
What type of counselling do you offer?
My approach is primarily person-centred and integrative. This means that I place you at the centre of the therapeutic relationship while drawing on different counselling theories and techniques where appropriate. I believe you are the expert in your own experience and our work will be shaped around your individual circumstances, needs and goals.
What happens during the first counselling session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and for you to talk about what has brought you to counselling. There is no expectation that you have to tell me everything straight away. We can work at a pace that feels comfortable for you and discuss what you would like from counselling.
How much does counselling cost?
Individual 50-minute counselling sessions are £45 when booked on a pay-as-you-go basis. I also offer discounted blocks of sessions, with £5 off the cost of each session when purchasing a block. A 10% student discount is also available. Please see my fees page for full pricing information.
Are you a qualified counsellor?
Yes. I am a Level 7 qualified counsellor and hold a Master's degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have over 700 hours of counselling experience across private practice and placement settings.
How do I book counselling?
You can get in touch through the contact form or book a free 15-minute consultation. We can then discuss what you're looking for and whether counselling with Cloud Nine Wellbeing feels like the right fit for you. There is no pressure or obligation to continue after the initial consultation.
